Monday: Beginnings of urbanization. What is it? Why did it happen? How does it tie in to what we are currently discussing.
Tuesday: Group discussion on urbanization, specifically, what kinds of issues would a city have if it grew too quick. Students will be in groups to develop lists of problems encountered through urbanization.
Wednesday: Coach Gray will be gone. Students need to bring their books to class. There will be an in class assignment. It will be due on Thursday.
Thursday: Guided Reading activity from chapter 7 sections 2 and 3 due today. We will continue to work on group activity from Tuesday. Groups will prioritize the urbanization problems from Tuesday and come up with a solution for each. If time permits we will discuss in class today.
Friday: Conclude group work from yesterday. Students will discuss in class ways cities can overcome the stresses of having a population explosion similar to those from the industrial revolution. Part of grade will be group members grading themselves and others in class.
