Monday: Skillbuilder Practice 7-1: Creating Maps due today.
Discussion of push/pull factors of immigration using smart notebook webs.
-Begin notes on immigration from Europe. We will be on Nearpod.

Tuesday: Continue notes from yesterday along with discussion. Where are immigrants from?
Why did immigrants come to America from various locations? A look at push/pull factors.
Wednesday: Making Connections: Begin today by showing class my family history along with actual documentation
from Ellis Island. How can they find similar information?
-Using smart board we will project a world map and identify where in the world we each are from to get an idea of our family's immigration patterns.
Thursday: Process of new immigrants to the U.S. A look at Ellis Island and what it took to enter our country. Additionally we will look
at Angel Island and how it differed from Ellis Island.
Friday: In class activity: Account Analysis
"Angel Island versus Ellis Island" A partnership in which students will read a letter written by two immigrants. Using this information along with their prior knowledge of the two immigration centers, students will create a venn diagram in which they will compare and contrast these two centers.
Objective:
-Students will be able to identify immigrants' countries of origin and describe the journey these immigrants endured and their experience at U.S. immigration stations.
